Landfills are facilities designed for the disposal of solid waste, such as household garbage, construction debris, and industrial waste. However, the waste contaminates the soil and groundwater, and produces leachate, landfill gas and odour.

• One of the primary ways that Megaplast Geomembranes are used in landfills is as liners to help contain waste and prevent it from leaching into the surrounding soil or water.
• They are also used in landfills to collect and store leachate, a liquid that is produced when water percolates through waste in the landfill.
• Megaplast Geomembrane landfill caps serve multiple functions including containment of landfill gas (methane), minimizing odours generated by decomposition of the waste and preventing infiltration of rainwater increasing volumes of leachate.
